Telling my family's stories

The interesting story of Marie (Talarmin) Wettengel

Marie_wettengel

Marie Talarmin was born at Landunvez, France on May 10, 1895. During World War 1, Edward Francis Wettengel (the son of Francis Wettengel and Anna Maria Burlandi – my great-great-great-grandparents) was drafted into the Navy and stationed in France. He and Marie “got together” and she had a son, Frank Yves, born September 8, 1918. She and Edward Francis married at Brest, France on June 3, 1919, and she came back to America with him. This photograph is from her passport application. They had two more children in St. Paul, and Edward died in 1933 at the age of 41. I don’t know what happened to Marie, but I think she and some of the children ended up way out on the Northwest Coast in Oregon or thereabouts.
